After innumerable requests of Story Maker support for photos, sounds, Real Talk Mode, and other sick features, Seen 1.0.10 has been released to satisfy the writer within you!
• Pictures in messages
• Play sound clips in-game
• Real Talk Mode is now officially supported
• You can now set time limits in replying
• Whole new suite of Statements to play with
• Story Maker’s got a new look
• Media Library, and more!
But wait, hold your horses! Before you get all too excited, we have some things to tell you.
Your story may crash the game. Yes, YOUR story. Why? You may be abusing or irresponsibly putting too much media content in your story that the game can’t handle it. As of now, the update is prone to the deadly OOM (Out of Memory) error and it happens when Seen has no more enough memory to work with. We’ll work this out in an upcoming patch.
The likelihood of this OOM error depends on the situation, especially if the player’s phone’s memory capacity is low. Well, you might be showing too much images or playing a whole bunch of sound clips. Plus, having too much media content may prevent your story from being published to Story World because it has a 30MB story limit.
Pro tip: Keep your photos and sounds at a minimum. Stick to good ol’ text and you’ll be good to go.
Introducing two new Then/Else Statements: FADE_CMPLX and PUSH_LIMIT! Both of them perform any Actions found in your story on demand. If you’re pretty familiar with Story Maker, you should know by now that if you have Actions linked to messages and if you moved or deleted those messages, the Actions will automatically adjust for you. Since FADE_CMPLX and PUSH_LIMIT are dependent on Actions, then moving and deleting those Actions should be safe, right?
The short answer is, well, no. The long answer is no because it’s not supported yet. We’ll work this out too in an upcoming patch.
Pro tip: For now, keep an eye out for your FADE_CMPLX and PUSH_LIMIT Statements.
That’s all! The patch should be out in a few weeks, ’cause we don’t want these OOM crashes happening everywhere. We hope you apppreciate this Story Maker overhaul! Enjoy!
